My vision is a world in which all children are treated with dignity, respect, understanding, and compassion. In such a world, every child can grow into adulthood with a generous capacity for love and trust. "Perfect" behavior should not be expected from children at all times - it is not demanded of adults - and parents should trust that children will develop as they should, without being pushed by externally-defined expectations. Trusting children in another way is also important. If parents can look for the underlying intentions behind a childs behavior, they will discover that he or she intends to be helpful and to contribute to the world, even if a lack of experience prevents the child from doing so in the most ideal way.
No Other Love Like Mother's Love.
A mother's love is something That no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion And of sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish, And enduring, come what may, For nothing can destroy it, Or take that love away. It is patient and forgiving When all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters, Even though the heart is breaking. It lives beyond believing, When the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty Of the rarest, purest gems. It is far beyond beyond defining, It defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret Like the mysteries of creation. A many splendored miracle, A man cannot understand, And another wondrous evidence Of God's tender guiding hand. By Helen Steiner Rice
